Farmhouse Facelift
When Katie and Brad Rose found their dream home, a century home in Utterson on 10 acres of land, they knew it was where they wanted to raise their 3-year-old and six-month old twin boys. The farmhouse had a lot of potential but required a great deal of work with water damage, old paneling and shag carpets in almost every room. The couple applied for a house renovation on HGTV Canada’s Farmhouse Facelift and asked Stratton Homes to take on the work, knowing that our Senior Construction Manager, Morgan Shaver, was close friends with hosts Carolyn Wilbrink and Billy Pearson.
With CEO Kyle Newman leading communication between the Rose family, the production company and the Stratton team, and Morgan working closely with the trades on site to complete the work, Katie and Brad described the experience as “stress-free, which is not common for renovations!”
“It was really important to us to honour the history of the home and try to keep as many original elements as possible. Morgan and Kyle did a good job of drawing on the house’s history rather than making it into a modern house.”
